It is time for TNA to duly hand over the Office of the Leader of Opposition to former President. Other than our anger over Federal Constitution, we have no grudge against TNA. I don’t see the issue of war crimes and the request to release hardcore LTTE terrorists as challenges. Any future President with a backbone can handle them, as they are only promises given by politicians for Tamil votes. TNA losing L/O post has no impact on Tamils in North/East as proved by the magnitude of magnanimity and generosity shown by Army, Navy and Sinhalese at the recent floods. TNA should know that Sinhalese never segregate people based on ethnicity. If there is any political resentment between Tamils and Sinhalese, it is TNA’s doing. If they give up their Federal Constitution daydream and see to the actual welfare of their people, everything will be fine. Little grudgingly though, I admit that as the LAST Iconic Leader in Tamil politics, R. Sampanthan be treated with due respect in Parliament.
