SLMC continues to register professionals from many categories including Nurses, Midwives, Radiographers, MLTs, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists as members, charging a lot of money, copying their certificates issued by the Ministry of Health and re-issuing a paper with a Number. The Number starts with a ZERO, means they have no voting rights when electing its Council Members. Also no representation is allowed in the Council. These legislation are found only in Sri Lanka due to too much of political and pot-heads involvement. As a Medical Council, if any individual runs a fake practice, use fake degrees for money, using Professional titles, they must use their regulatory power with specific warning, but they are utterly deaf. In the UK GMC, only 08 members in the Executive Council, only 4 out of 8 are doctors, but in SL more than 25.

This council is dropping down international recognized foreign universities without giving good reason. Only reason they want stop entering srilankan students to those universities and obtained medical degrees. This is the only council in the world asking elementary ,O/L or A/L result to get medical registration.
