පන්දුව පලුදු කිරීමේ නීතියේ අඩුපාඩු තිබෙනවා - ෆයිසර්
ජාත්යන්තර ක්රිකට් කවුන්සිලය මගින් පනවා ඇති පන්දුව පලුදු කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් වන නීතිවල අඬුලුහුඩුකම් බෙහෙවින් නිරීක්ෂණය වන බව ක්රීඩා අමාත්ය ෆයිසර් මුස්තාපා මහතා පවසයි.
ඔහු නිකුත් කළ නිවේදනයක දැක්වෙන්නේ ජාත්යන්තර ක්රිකට් කවුන්සිලය නැවත වරක් ඒ සම්බන්ධයෙන් සිය අවධානය යොමු කර නිශ්චිත වූත්, පරිපුර්ණ වූත් ක්රියාමාර්ග මාලා සහ වැරදි නිර්වචනය කරමින් එම ක්ෂේත්රය වඩාත් ඵලදායී ලෙස කළමනාකරණය කිරීමට කටයුතු කළ යුතු බවයි.
එසේම ශ්රී ලංකා ටෙස්ට් නායක දිනේෂ් චන්දිමාල්, පුහුණුකරු චන්දික හතුරුසිංහ හා කළමනාකරු අසංක ගුරුසිංහ වරදකරුවන් කිරීමට ජාත්යන්තර ක්රිකට් ආයතනය ගත් තීරණය පිළිබඳ තමන් සිත් තැවුලට පත්වන බවත් ඔහු පවසයි.
“ජාත්යන්තර ක්රිකට් කවුන්සිලයේ චර්යා ධර්ම සංග්රහයට පටහැනිව කටයුතු කරමින් ක්රීඩාවේ ජීවගුණයට හානිකිරීමට කටයුතු කළේ යැයි චෝදනා කරමින් ශ්රී ලංකා ක්රිකට් කණ්ඩායමේ නායක, දිනේෂ් චන්දිමාල්, පුහුණුකරු චන්දික හතුරුසිංහ සහ කළමනාකරු අසංග ගුරුසිංහට ජාත්යන්තර ක්රිකට් කමිටුව විසින් සිදුකරනු ලැබූ පරීක්ෂණය වෙනුවෙන් එකී ක්රීඩකයන් සහ නිලධාරීන් වෙනුවෙන් පෙනී සිටිමින් සියලු දෙනා අදාළ චෝදනා සඳහා නිවැරදිකරුවන් බවට කරුණු දැක්වීමට අප විසින් ගනු ලැබූ සියලු ප්රයත්නයන් ව්යර්ථ වී ඔවුන් සියලු දෙනාම විමර්ශනය සිදු කළ ජාත්යන්තර ක්රිකට් කවුන්සිලයේ ගරු අධිකරණය කොමසාරිස්වරයා විසින් වැරදිකරුවන් බවට පත්කිරීමට තීරණය කිරීම පිළිබඳ මා මහත් සිත් තැවුලට පත් විය.”

Don’t find fault with the ICC. You must understand that these are two different issues. 1. Ball tampering 2. Breach of Code of Conduct. --- You cannot justify the decision of Sri Lankan Manager, the Coach and the Team Captain to halt the match for two hours in protest of ball tampering charges against the Captain. “Comply and complain” should have been our reaction. Instead now we have “complained and complied” as the trio later pleaded guilty.for their conduct. ---- I always standby my country, our Army, our people. But what is wrong is wrong. Being one time senior world class players who played Cricket according to the Book, Asanka and Chandika should have acted with responsibility to avoid bringing disgrace to Sri Lanka by the ball tampering charge against Chandimal. They should have sent him to pavilion and continue the game. If they had done that who knows, we could have even saved Chandimal. (Cont'd .......)

(Continuation .....) The undue protest of the trio in the midst of an international game, has given a wrong message to the younger generation which is sad. We must understand, it is not the ball tampering charge which went against us, it was the breach of Code of Conduct which hampered our chance to save Chandimal for I have seen bowlers taking saliva on the palm and applying on the bowl openly which was not considered as an attempt to tamper the ball. Anyways, I don't know අන්ය්තින්ග් about the chewing gum part.
