බන්දුලගේ කතාවට මහේල කනගාටුවෙයි
මෙවර උසස්පෙළ විිභාගයේ කළා අංශයේ දිවයිනේම පළමු ස්ථානය ලබාගත් සිසුවිය ජාත්යන්තර පාසලකින් බිහිවූයේ කුමන්ත්රණයක් නිසා බව හිටපු අධ්යාපන අමාත්යවරයෙක් මෙන්ම, වත්මන් පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්රීවරයෙක් වන බන්දුල ගුණවර්ධන මහතා ඊයේ ප්රකාශ කළේය.
මේ පිළිබඳව අදහස් දක්වන ශ්රී ලංකා හිටපු ක්රිකට් නායක මහේල ජයවර්ධන මහතා සඳහන් කරන්නේ ඒම ප්රකාශය සම්බන්ධයෙන් තමන් කනගාටුවන බවත් නිදහස් හෝ ගෙවීම් යටතේ අධ්යාපනය කළත් සෑම විටම අපගේ අනාගත පරම්පරාව ධෛර්යමත් කළ යුතු බවත් ඔහු පවසයි.
Very disappointed with this comment.. Education is knowledge if it’s free or paid. We should always encourage our next generations achievements. Congratulations to all students but specially to the young girl who came 5th all island. Well done.

No, you are wrong. What Bandula says is true. Free education is a tool for social and income equality. It is the only way to make sure that all children have equal opportunities and government exams are the path that lead to such opportunities. I vehemently object for allowing International Students to sit for government exams (I didn’t know that.) Free education and government exams are the only way for social transformation and eradication of poverty. How could you justify wealthy stealing the chances of the poor? This marks an unprecedented disparity among the poor and the wealthy. For your information Mahela, there is a big difference between poor man’s government school and rich man’s international school. If children of both men are allowed to sit for government exams, it is limiting opportunities of the poor to gain access to same social status and same job opportunities of the wealthy. How could you explain free university education becoming a privilege for wealthy?
